A curtain wall is an outer covering of a building in which the outer walls are non-structural, but merely keep out the weather. When glass is used as the curtain wall, a great advantage is that natural light can penetrate deeper within the building and the effects are dramatic.  Traditionally, curtain wall was used exclusivly for commercial applications, however, we are seeing a trend in this application being incorporated into residential architectural glass applications.  With extensive design flexability and energy smart glass and metal solutions, curtain wall has growing in popularity as an architectural glass system.
